In this video we’ve just replaced a Mechatronic control module on a Holden Captiva 2012 and as expected there’s a fault code logged in the transmission and the gears aren’t engaging smoothly.
Watch the video to see how we programmed it (thus permanently erasing the fault code) and how we then calibrated it.
Symptom:
Gears won't engage smoothly
DTC logged (P0602 - “Control module, not programmed”)
Fix:
Newly installed module needs to be programmed and then calibrated
Procedure:
Program transmission module
Raise transmission fluid temperature to above 70°C.
Calibrate Transmission
Test drive so that the remaining self learn functions can be automatically performed
