Local summer camps react as Texas flood death toll surpasses 100, several killed from Camp Mystic

Описание: The death toll from catastrophic flooding in Texas on the Fourth of July has climbed past 100 as rescue teams enter day five of searching for dozens of missing people.

In just one county alone, Kerr County, there are at least 87 fatalities, including 30 children, Sheriff Larry Leitha said during a Tuesday news conference. Twenty-three remain unaccounted for, including 5 campers and one counselor from Camp Mystic, an all-girls Christian summer camp.

Officials were grilled at the news conference about their response to the flooding on Friday morning, with several reporters appearing to get heated when an answer could not be provided.
