Conclusion of the refurbishment of the 1951 Ilg 423 42 inch industrial exhaust fan. This fan belongs to a friend and fellow AFCA member. The fan was missing the tip from one blade wing. This was replaced with new metal, and then the fan blade was balanced at Industrial Engineering & Machine in Atlanta, GA. The result is a very smooth running fan!
The guards were damaged by corrosion and crushing / bending in the past, and as a result don't look so good. But they are in place and functional. The fan is ready to run another 50 years with no maintenance, and it will be better than anything new you might buy.
As stated in the video; if anybody happens to see these fans in an abandoned or disused state, please contact me. There are several people who want to see these preserved and not scrapped!
