CAT Chief Instructor, Colin Hoad, takes us on tour around the Alpine Loop (mini Nurburgring) at UTAC, formerly known as Millbrook Proving Ground
Alpine loop circuit, similar to the famous Nurburgring, where vehicles and drivers can be tested to their handling limits on blind crests, adverse cambers, hairpins, fast down and up hill sections.
This impressive training circuit indulges the trainee with many high performance driving scenarios: Trail braking; CAT’s unique cornering analysis - we break the corner into 9 sections for optimum driver comfort at grip limit; observation at speed; straight line cornering; single input steering; dealing with changing road topography and its effects on platform balance. Spend all day there and you’ll never tire of the experience.
