Four people were killed and several others injured after a Florida-registered speedboat allegedly opened fire on Cuban border guards in Cuban territorial waters, according to Cuban officials.
Cuba’s Ministry of the Interior says the vessel was detected near the El Pino channel in Cayo Falcones before a confrontation left four men dead and six others injured. Cuban authorities identified the men as Cuban nationals living in the United States and claim they were attempting to carry out a terrorist act.
In the video, Secretary of State Marco Rubioa, longtime critic of the Cuban government, responded to the incident.
