Island information:

Crystal Island, featured in Croc: Legend of the Gobbos, is the fifth and final (or secret) island of the game. This island is only unlocked once the player obtains all eight Jigsaw Pieces from the previous eight secret levels by finding all six Gobbos from all normal levels. These levels are unique to other levels in the game, as no Gobbos or Jigsaw Pieces are found; the only objective is to complete the levels. When the player has completed all five levels and defeated the final Guardian, The Secret Sentinel, the game will be 100% completed.

Guardians:

Crystal Baron Dante in 5-B1 Secret Sentinel

The Secret Sentinel is both the very last level and the final Guardian level of Croc: Legend of the Gobbos. It is here you verse Baron Dante in his final, crystal form. He appears on Crystal Island and hovers above a bottomless pit. He shoots lightning at Croc and can only be destroyed by the simultaneous reverberation of four Beany Bird Gongs.

The Secret Sentinel attacks by shooting energy balls and blasts at Croc. The blasts are fairly hard to dodge, so to avoid dying, have at least one crystal to absorb the attacks. Or just hit a Beany Gong as soon as the fight starts because The Sentinel stops everything, including attacking, and wails in pain when a Beany Gong is hit. Whilst he is temporarily disabled, this gives Croc time to get to the next Beany Gong and hit it, then the next, and the next, etc. Croc must continue hitting all four of the Beany Gongs until they are reverberating at the same time to defeat the Secret Sentinel.

Croc: Legend of the Gobbos is the first of the Croc video game series. Developed by Argonaut Games PLC and published by Fox Interactive in 1997, it was created and released for Game Boy Color, Sony PlayStation, Sega Saturn, and Windows (PC).

Plot:

On an island inhabited by small furry creatures called Gobbos, King Rufus , their leader, discovers a small black basket abandoned in a lake containing a small, screaming baby crocodile. King Rufus, along with all of the other Gobbos on Volcano Island, raise the crocodile in the ways of the Gobbos. Croc is a vegetarian who eats mostly peas. After some time on the island, Croc and the Gobbos have established a close relationship until one day the evil Baron Dante shows up, along with his minion Dantinis. They kidnapp several Gobbo creatures including King Rufus after he straps a backpack to Croc's back and has Beany Bird take Croc to safety. Croc is then determined to rescue the Gobbos and King Rufus from the evil clutches of Baron Dante.
