Red Dead Redemption 2 | How to remove Off Hand Holster on Current Patch via Patch 1.00

In this video I will show you how to have no off hand holster on both Patch 1.00 of the game and also the current patch. The majority of this glitch will take place on Patch 1.00 which can only be done on PlayStation platform and the Xbox platform, it is NOT possible to downgrade games on the PC platform which means this glitch is not possible to do on PC.

Explaining the properties of Patch 1.00 and the glitch:

When you downgrade to Patch 1.00, you will have to start the game from the beginning as your saves from the current patch are not compatible with the Patch 1.00 version of the game. This means whenever you will try to load your current patch saves you will get an error message. Your saves are NOT corrupted, just not available to use on the base version of the game, when you update the game back to the current patch, all of your saves will work normally again.

This glitch is one of the longest glitches in Red Dead Redemption 2 as it takes up majority of a playthrough, it might take days or weeks in real life to do so keep in mind that it will take a while to fully finish.

The Playthrough / glitch itself:

Starting the playthrough in Chapter 1, you only need to play through this part of the game, there is NO requirements for the no off hand holster glitch here. You can get the Winter Coat outfit whilst being on this part of the playthrough, I made a separate video on this which you can find on my channel.

In Chapter 2 of the playthrough, process of the glitch starts, the first thing to do is save at least 1 outfit to wardrobe as a custom outfit without the off hand holster. (If you got the winter coat outfit save the outfit too as it has no off hand holster equipped.) If you're going to buy reinforced equipment from either the Gunsmith or Trapper buy ONLY the Gunbelt, Holster and Bandolier DON'T buy the off hand holster yet, it's best to do so after the mission "Blessed are the Meek?" When you're get to this mission, complete it and go to any wardrobe nearby and equip the outfit you have saved previously without the off hand holster. From this moment until Chapter 5 every time you die, fail a mission load into the game, the off hand holster will appear (if you removed it) you can just play through the game normally with the off hand holster equipped, so long as you have outfits in wardrobe saved without the off hand holster.

Chapters 3 and 4 have nothing related to the glitch so you can just play through these Chapters normally (or speedrun them.) The most important part is before the mission "Banking the Old American Art" (the final mission in Chapter 4) is to equip an outfit with no off hand holster and play through the mission normally, without failing or dying.

Starting Chapter 5 the moment you are free from the chain gang during the mission "Welcome to the New World" you must quickly equip a hat from one of the dead soldiers nearby, this will cause for Arthur to have shackles on his legs in the next shootout part of the mission. These shackles are important as they will replace the slot of the off hand holster that was empty prior to the mission "Banking the Old American Art." After finishing the missions on Guarma and after the missions "Dear Uncle Tacitus" and "Fleeting Joy" on the mainland you can access the wardrobe where you can apply the shackles to all your outfits in wardrobe. These shackles will allow to have no off hand holster all the time during the rest of the playthrough, this means when you fail a mission, die or load into the game the shackles will still be there.

In Chapter 6, all you need to do is finish it with the shackles, pretty much equivalent to playing through Chapter 6 casually. It is also highly recommended to make a save before the mission "Our Best Selves" for the final part of the glitch.

Onto Epilogue Part 1, the final part of the glitch, all you need to do is finish all Pronghorn Ranch missions without loading a save, dying or failing a mission. This is why it is recommended to make a save at the end of Chapter 6. After the mission "Motherhood" John will have no off hand holster but a hammer holster instead. To save this onto current patch save at least one outfit before updating the game. On current patch you will respawn with an off hand holster but the outfit saved in wardrobe will still be there and now you
have no off hand holster on current patch.
