After Fire at SCB Medical College and Hospital, Safety Checks Intensify in Puri Hospitals and Hotels

Following the tragic fire incident at SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack, authorities in Puri have stepped up fire safety inspections. Officials inspected fire safety systems at the Puri District Headquarters Hospital and various wards to ensure preparedness. Meanwhile, concerns have surfaced as more than 500 hotels, 16 market complexes, 4 dharmashalas, and several lodges in Puri are reportedly operating without proper fire safety arrangements. Authorities have warned strict action against institutions that fail to comply with fire safety norms, while the fire department plans to train hotel staff on using fire extinguishers.
