LawnsOne have been caring for lawns for decades and over the years they have tried and tested the most effective methods to achieve beautiful, lush lawns.
Most lawns suffer through the summer months. this is when an intervention is needed to restore it to its former glory. Grass is a plant and therefore needs the care that plants need in order to flourish. Get your lawn and garden looking its best with these great tips.
There are a number to aerate a lawn. Lawnsone do it for a number of reasons, firstly to relieve compaction, secondly to create vertical channels into the soil, and finally to get water and air down into the soil to nourish the grass' roots. Once that's done well, LawnsOne will apply seed which will drop down those channels.
Bare areas are common in lawns, and this is where overseeding is needed. This can be done with a machine or by hand depending on how large or small the bare patch of lawn is. Firstly, the surface thatch is removed and the seed is applied. Once the seed is incorporated into the soil, a dressing is placed on top like green manure which is great for moisture retention. Moisture is the key for germination, and results should start to appear after 14 to 21 days. The ground is then flattened to ensure the soil is level and even.
Scarification may also be necessary depending on the condition of the grass. Lawnsone will scarify to remove the thatch created and also to remove any material that might prevent good grass growth. This will encourage regrowth and thicken your lawn. For larger patches of bare lawn we use a seed slotting machine to spread the seed evenly.
