BOP control unit consists of accumulator bottles, a reservoir tank, charging system to pump hydraulic fluid into accumulator bottles, pressure regulating valves, an operating manifold, pressure relief valve, pneumatic pressure transmitters and air junction boxes.
The purpose of BOP control unit is to provide pressurised hydraulic fluid that will promptly operate the blowout preventers.

All these valves are 3-position 4-way valves. When a manipulator or selector valve is kept in open position, the pressure port gets connected to open port and drain port gets
connected to close port. When these valves are kept in close position the pressure port gets connected to close port, and drain port gets connected to open port.
When a manipulator valve is kept in Block(neutral) position the open and close ports get connected to drain. When a selector valve is kept in Block(neutral) position all the four ports get isolated.
