The People's Democratic Party (PDP) has started negotiations with 11 minor parties to boost the odds of Atiku Abubakar, the standard-bearer in the February 25 presidential election.
News reported that the party's deputy head of public affairs, Ibrahim Abdullahi, made the announcement in the country's capital, Abuja, on Wednesday.
Abdullahi claimed that 11 political parties approached his PDP for cooperation. He also called on other groups and more groups to join and work with the biggest opposition parties.
In an interview with The Punch, Abdullahi said:
"There are quite a few of them, but it would be unwise to list them publicly. Last time I checked, I was talking to over 11 of them.
