The flight today is from Salcombe along the Kingsbridge Estuary to take a look at the site of Kingsbridge Railway Station and Bowrinsleigh House.
There is a strong connection between Bowringsleigh House, Kingsbridge Railway and Kingsbridge Estuary.
William Roope Ilbert was a strong promotor and Director of the Kingsbridge Railway Company and in 1873 the company advertised a prospectus of a shares issue for £160000.
William Ilbert bought Bowringsleigh in 1695 where the family
remained until the death of Miss Margery Ilbert in 1984.
Passengers arriving at Kingsbridge Station would be taken by the Steamer Kenwith Castle to holiday in Salcombe.
