From seeing the ingredients it can be helpful for people, that fit better with their health goals for example, if someone wants to eat less sugar, they can avoid foods from looking at the labels, so that then they can ignore the more added sugars.

What about the protesting? Some of the people argue that listing all ingredients might confuse people, or companies might also not want to share their secret recipes.

People can learn about ingredients and the government (like the FDA) can also help them educate them.

Companies have to also provide nutritional information, so showing all of the ingredients is just as small step further towards transparency.
