The GLCC ETF also known as the Global X Gold Producer Equity Covered Call ETF is one of the funds from Global X. This fund seeks to attain two key objectives – one is to provide exposure to the diversified North American listed gold producers and two is to generate monthly income via covered call writing strategy. Usually investors take a small exposure to Gold (say max 10% of their portfolio) in order to have a store of value and hedge against any uncertainties in economy or markets. However, there are other alternate strategies to invest in gold sectors such as investing in gold mining blue chip stocks, small cap or junior miners, etc. The GLCC ETF provides a way to use covered calls on gold producer index and gold mining stocks, which is unique.
