We’re staying at Dead Valley Lodge, perfectly positioned for an early start, and we walk through what it’s like staying there before setting off just before sunrise.

The climb up Big Daddy is no joke—steep sand, shifting footing, and a steady reminder that this is real adventure travel. But reaching the top as the sun rises over the dunes made every step worth it.

After the descent, we walk through Dead Vlei, one of Namibia’s most surreal landscapes, surrounded by towering red dunes and ancient camel thorn trees.
