Sri Lanka's most UNDERRATED place- Nuwara Eliya 🇱🇰

Описание: Nuwara Eliya is a small yet vibrant community nestled in the south part of Sri Lanka. It is high above in a nutrient rich green mountain and scape, there are also a few small villages nearby.

In 1845 an English explorer found this spot in 1846. His name was Samuel Baker and he concluded that the exact temperature from England (he probably means English spring weather because temperature fluctuates) had been matched by this location.

Since the weather was what he preferred essentially, he got people to build holiday retreats on this island. Even though it was 1846 so I don’t think going to Sri Lanka from England was a common holiday. However the city now gets plenty of tourists but thankfully it’s not bustling with them so you will generally be around the local people.

It took about 5 hours including stops to get here from Kandy, a place which is very busy but once you get here it’s almost jarring how much quieter it is. Nuwara Eliya also has a horse racing track so there are plenty of noble steeds knocking about.

Also the prophetic monks which you’ll see in the video being replicated by real ones was eerily foreshadowing (even though monks are chill)
