Chronicle is a found-footage superhero film about three high school students who gain mysterious telekinetic powers.
The story follows Andrew Detmer, a shy and troubled teenager who starts filming his life with a camera. One night, he and his cousin Matt and their friend Steve discover a strange glowing object in a hole in the ground. After being exposed to it, they develop powerful telekinetic abilities, allowing them to move objects with their minds.
At first, the boys use their powers for fun—playing pranks, flying in the sky, and experimenting with what they can do. However, Andrew’s difficult home life and emotional struggles begin to affect him. As his powers grow stronger, he becomes more unstable and starts using them in dangerous ways.
Eventually, Andrew loses control and becomes destructive, causing chaos in the city. Matt is forced to confront him in a final battle to stop him before he hurts more people.
The film explores themes of power, responsibility, and how personal pain can influence how someone uses great power.
