I love a good challenge. There are numbers showing that a "regular" family of four would need just over 600 kg of vegetables a year if they also eat meat, dairy, eggs, rice and pasta. Being me, I couldn't stand the uneven number (it was 600-something) and instead of rounding down, I rounded up. I know I could EASILY get 700 kg of food if I just planted potatoes, given that the potatoes averaged 15 kilos per square meter last year. In fact, I'd manage my goal and more than double it. But you can't just live off of potatoes. So the real challenge is to reach the goal even with vegetables that are not as productive and doesn't weigh as much as potatoes do.
If you think this sounds like a fun challenge I hope you'll tag along by subscribing, I'll also add all of the videos in a playlist if you want to binge watch later on. There are also playlists on my channel for the greenhouse build and the van build.
Have a fantastic week!
