Cracking into aluminum oxide with the Pallmann Spider and diamond segments.
Two options 30grit or 50grit diamond segment sets. Attached to separate disks for the Spider triple head. Set the spider to 240rpms with no weight and work in 10’x10’ sections then stoping and taking the segments off the floor to cool. To avoid burning the surface and glazing the segments. Then once cool proceed. The main goal is to crack into the aluminum oxide finish so that you can come back and start to abrade with normal abrasives.
*These diamond segments are not intended for sanding old finishes or raw wood. They will gum up with old finishes and burning raw wood, creating much more work. These diamond segments are a tool to quickly crack open the A/O finish and get you to where sand paper will start being effective. Once you’re done with the diamond segments, clean them off with a nylon or wire brush and mineral spirits. Then proceed to sanding with the triple disc and matching abrasive as diamond grit used or high.
