💥 Piriformis trapping your sciatica nerve?
💥 Still have buttock pain despite frequent stretching?
💥 You may consider this reason for your on-going issues
The piriformis muscle can become overly tight (creating sciatic nerve pressure) after a bout of running or lifting in some people for a variety of reasons.
Typically simple stretches, tissue work and exercises work with these cases BUT what if they don’t?
The sciatic nerve (rather its contributing parts) can be pressured in other regions of the hip and back. The most common (and easy to treat) areas is at the spinal nerve roots, which will create piriformis tightness/ pain and more compensated tightnesses
💥 Hip flexors tightness
💥 Hamstring tightness
💥 TFL tightness
The nerves are the boss and unless unpressured your condition will remain.
And no you don’t need to have back pain to have the nerves being under too much pressure and creating piriformis tightness.
Just a few thoughts:
1️⃣ You don’t need an MRI to confirm this
.
2️⃣ You don’t need x-rays most of the time either
.
3️⃣ Find someone who will do more than focus their treatment on the buttocks area.
.
Always consult a trusted medical provider for a full examination before attempting exercises. If you’d like for me to be that medical provider, come see me in Southern CA.
