The designers had a lot of confidence that the weak-ish tapered fingers on these pole saws would stay seated on the holes in the pole. Well they don't after a while but no reason to toss a good tool.
Get 4 2" automotive hose clamps and place one against the tapered fitting to keep a 2nd hose clamp holding those fingers seated in the holes on the pole.
The saw cuts well. Be sure to top off the oil after 10-15 cuts. It doesn't hold much and you can cut bigger limbs with this by cutting out wedges as if you were using an ax.
Remember - always finish by cutting down where the branch will break away from the blade rather than pinch it.
And wear gloves and goggles.
