Deep in the desert heart of WA, the State Government has created the new Matuwa Kurrara Kurrara National Park and Lake Carnegie Nature Reserve.
Together the reserves add more than 800,000 hectares to WA’s conservation estate 👏.
Located in the remote Goldfields, the Tarlka Matuwa Piarku Aboriginal Corporation (TMPAC) will be jointly managing these areas with DBCA.
The nature reserve at Lake Carnegie was introduced into the Plan for Our Parks program at TMPAC’s request to conserve and protect the exceptional cultural, natural and biodiversity values of the place.
