This is the first of three videos involving Val Fell with Year 9 students from The Hills Grammar School Kenthurst (Sydney, Australia) in their first Intergenerational Learning and Wellbeing activity.
Val Fell is 93 and has been an advocate for persons with dementia and their carer's for many years. Students ask Val about her background and mentors. Their reactions are profound.
Val is one of the 14 members of the Australian Government's Aged Care Council of Elders and a member of many other committees. In 2022, Val received an OAM for her advocacy of people living with dementia and older people.
We appreciate Val's participation and support of the Intergenerational Learning and Wellbeing program since 2021.
School, aged care organisations and senior's groups are welcome to participate in this program. It is based on research by Griffith University, the Australian Institute for Intergenerational Practice (www.aiip.net.au) and other academic institutions.
