For the first time, we’ve captured the Arctic char of Lake Vättern with the TiVA UVC underwater camera. The arctic char is a fish that looks almost exotic as it moves through the clear, cold water. It is one of our most remarkable freshwater species, perfectly adapted to Vättern’s unique environment. Now, in autumn, they gather to spawn on the rocky bottoms near the shore.
Through our monitoring system TiVA UVC, we can watch the char move calmly and purposefully, preparing for spawning. It’s a sign of both the species’ vitality and the lake’s exceptional water quality. Getting this close to life beneath the surface, just off the shores of Huskvarna, offers a deeper appreciation for a lake many of us have known all our lives. 🐟❤️
