In this video, we explain the 4 major reservation categories in India — Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC), and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS).

SC Reservation: 15%
ST Reservation: 7.5%
OBC Reservation: 27% at the Central level
EWS Reservation: 10%

According to the 2011 Census, SCs made up 16.6% and STs 8.6% of India's population. There is no exact official all-India Census figure for the current OBC population, while the Mandal Commission estimated it at 52%.
