Описание: Hello everyone. This is the first of six videos documenting the area around the Central Railroad of New Jerseys Coplay branch bridge. We are starting off in Northampton borough, Northampton County PA. Before we get into the bridge history we star with a look at the Lehigh Coal and Navigation Company, or Lehigh canal lock 35. I believe this would have been what's known as an exit lock. This meaning that the canal barge would have exited the canal channel and floated through a slack water pool being caused from a dam down river. The canal first came through in 1818 and was rebuilt for two way traffic in 1827. Let's go for a walk and I'll fill you in on what I speculate. Thank you for watching. 8/4/24
