One day, I-don't-know-who
got up early in the morning,
On his head he put on I don't know what
And on his feet I don't know what
He put in his bag I don't know what -
And he vanished into thin air

And he was doing quite well
Rambling around I don't know where
In the sun, in the rain, in the shade -
He had lunch or he didn't
He sat down to rest or he didn't
And he didn't worry about it at all,
and played the comb kazoo...

And since that time I don't know how
To find him in the world...
And neither fish nor crab knows,
And neither beast nor bird knows,
And you don't know it either!


ICH WEISS NICHT WER
Es war einmal, ich weiß nicht wer
sprang aus dem Bett in aller Früh,
auf den Kopf setze er ich weiß nicht was,
an die Füße zog er ich weiß nicht was,
in seine Tasche steckte er ich weiß nicht was,
und dann ward er nicht mehr gesehen!

Und es erging ihm gar nicht schlecht,
er trieb sich rum, ich weiss nicht wo
In Sonne, Regen und im Schatten -
aß Mittagessen oder nicht,
ruhte sich aus oder nicht
und sorgte sich gar nicht darum,
und blies auf seinem Kamm...

Seit dieser Zeit weiß ich nicht, wie
er auf der Welt zu finden wär...
Und weder weiß es Fisch noch Krebs,
noch weiß es Tier noch Vogel,
und ihr wisst es sicher auch nicht!
