CROATIAN FRITULE | Mini Doughnuts
In Croatia, the fritule season starts usually on the 25 November – exactly one month before Christmas. But I find it really hard to stick to such rules, hence, I am showing you this recipe now anyways. 😅 These mini doughnuts taste best served still a little warm and with some fresh icing sugar dust on top! The best part is definitely biting into a soft nugget of raisin within the dough… They are somewhat similar to Italian zeppole and venetian Frìtole, but are usually flavoured with Loza and citrus zest and contain raisins. Knowing how to make fritule is almost mandatory for a Croatian. 😉
