Washington families watch in disbelief as Burdoin Fire destroys homes in Columbia River Gorge

Описание: On Saturday afternoon, Katie and David Curran stood in the still-fresh Rowena burn scar. Gazing out across the Columbia River, they watched their home in Lyle, Wash., reduced to nothing more than rubble.

The home had been in Katie Curran's family for generations.

The fire currently burning an estimated 10,730 acres remains uncontained. Fire officials say 14 residences have been destroyed and 37 have been damaged; 250 total residences are threatened.
