Just a quick video showing how I replaced the lower control arms including the lower ball joints on a 2014 Toyota Sienna. This video shows both the driver's side and the passenger side. The process is very similar, but the transmission mount on the driver's side is different than the motor mount on the passenger side. This will be the same process for many different years of Sienna and a few other models of Toyota. If your lower control arm bushings are torn or cracked it is easier to just replace the entire lower control arm. You can get them without the lower ball joints, but most replacement lower control arms came with them. If you're not going to replace the lower ball joints, you do not need to take the axle out of the hub. I picked up the replacement lower control arms with ball joints from my local O'reilly and they are working great and holding up fine. The book says that this job takes about 10 hours, but I did it in my driveway in about 4 hours. I know I may have missed a few things and didn't do this perfectly, but I hope you get the idea and this video is helpful to you.

Torque Specs:
103 ft. lbs. for the Rear Control Arm Bolt
148 ft. lbs. for the Front and Middle Control Arm Bolts
65 ft. lbs. for the top Transmission and Motor Mount Nuts
50 ft. lbs. for the lower Transmission and Motor Mount Nuts
40 ft. lbs. for the upper Motor Mount Nuts (to the block)
91 ft lbs for the Main Ball Joint Nut
68 ft lbs for the Nuts and Bolt that attach the Ball Joint and Lower Control Arm
217 ft lbs for the Axle Nut


Tools Needed:
12mm socket
10mm socket
Small Trim Tool Remover or mini pry bar
19mm socket and/or breaker bar or impact wrench
19mm wrench
1/2" Impact Wobble
14mm deep socket
17mm deep socket
22mm deep socket
30mm 12 point socket
or maybe 32mm if the axle has been replaced.
Pry Bar
Mallet
Small Sledgehammer
Punch
Jack & Jackstands
small block of wood for the jack when lifting from the
transmission and oil pans. (Do not place the jack directly on the transmission pan or oil pan.)
