Ingredients:
250 gms Bitter Gourd (Karla)
1/2 tsp Mustard Seeds
1/4 Asafoetida (Hing)
1 Onion, chopped
1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder
1/2 tsp Sugar
3 tbsp Grated Coconut
1 tbsp Mix Masala
3 tbsp Oil
Coriander Leaves
Salt to taste
Water
Method:
First apply salt to the chopped bitter gourd pieces and keep them aside for sometime.
In a pan heat some oil.
Add mustard seeds, asafoetida, onion, coriander leaves and turmeric powder. Saute everything well till the onions become soft.
Squeeze out all the water from the chopped bitter gourd pieces and add it to the masala. Mix well.
Add grated coconut, mix masala, sugar and salt. Mix everything well.
Add little water and cover it with a lid to let everything cook for 10 minutes.
Karlyachi Bhaji is ready to be served.
