This is a very old barrel organ, dated 5 April 1851 (seen inside the cabinet. I was really fascinated by it the first time I saw it and asked the owner to keep us in mind if they ever decided to sell it. Well, a couple of years time passed and we received a call from the owner who asked us if we were still interested in it, and of course we were. They were just looking for someone who would value and take care of it and decided to just give it to us! They were driving down from Washington state to visit relatives and put it in their SUV. When they arrived I was a little worried that it might have sustained some damage because of the way it was transported (and such a long drive), but when we offloaded it from their SUV it appeared intact. This video was made a few days after I went through it and re-seated the loose pipes and sat it back on its base inside our house.
It still needs some work but plays nice. At least the bellows had been redone so that major job was out of the way.
