Summer Kayak Fishing, Eastbourne UK

Описание: A little video, clipped together of a few hours on the water off Eastbourne, East Sussex UK.

Just purchased a Hobie Outback, and wanted to get out and try it.

Baits used were frozen Sandeel, Squid and Fresh Peeler Crab all from local bait company “Fresh and Frozen Crabs” find them on Facebook, I cannot recommend them enough. Mike and Heather do a fantastic job and are reliable and provide top quality fresh and frozen baits. Their motto “Good things come to those who bait”

I wanted to try some trolling for a few Bass as the water was clear, and to try out and get used to the pedal drive system. However, the mist had rolled in on Thursday afternoon which made things a little difficult.

I also wanted to anchor up and see how I would feel at anchor in a bigger and updated kayak to what I am used too. I retain my 2.5kg set up with 2m of chain link and diving reel, it’s very comfortable and felt so much sturdier than my small 10ft kayak.

Unfortunately I Lost a decent hound on the first cast at Anchor, but I persevered with the crab baits and was rewarded with a 91cm Hound, which I estimate to be around 6lb on.

Running rigs were the order of the day, 5oz grip weights and 30lb mono snoods an a single 3/0 hook. I only had the one hound and I was happy with that, I also had a small dogfish and 2 thornback Rays before trying a little troll on the way back to Langley point where I had launched from.

I stopped at the pier to see how the anglers were doing…boy they don’t like you going near the pier!! So I hung back and used some surface divers and landed a couple of small “schoolies” just to be pedantic.
