Cultural bearer Dwayne Tomah, Passamaquoddy, was honored for keeping language and lifeways alive at the University of Maine Machias. “It's so important for Indigenous people to stand up and come to the forefront and be leaders and to be able to share a lot of this knowledge,” the Sipayik Museum director said about his recognition.
