This lecture starts by introducing the structure of tyrosine kinase receptors. It then discusses how tyrosine kinase receptors have the ability to activate insulin receptor substrate 1 (IRS-1) and how IRS-1 can activate PI3K. Next it discusses how PI3K turns PIP2 into PIP3 and how PIP3 activates PDK1. It finishes by discussing how PDK1 knocks out AS160 which then allows for Rab to become active and GLUT4 translocate.
