In this 1956 short directed by *William Hanna* and **Joseph Barbera**, Spike and his son Tyke are trying to enjoy a backyard barbecue.
Their peaceful cookout goes off the rails when Tom and Jerry get involved — Jerry hides in the bag of charcoal, the salad bowl, and even in the bread, turning every part of the grill into a hiding spot.
Spike, furious at Tom’s constant interference, chases him out of his food prep several times.
Just when you think the barbecue might finally go right — enter an entire *army of ants* who march over and carry off all the food!
It’s classic cat-and-mouse chaos mixed with some grill-based slapstick — plus, the animators lean into grill gags, flying food, and family BBQ tension.
