Last Ride of 2025 🚵‍♂️ | Brutal Nyeri Hill MTB Climb & 72 KPH Descent

Описание: On 31st December 2025, Ken Ngure and I wrapped up the year with a proper mountain bike ride in Nyeri, as part of a series of festive season rides we had planned.

The ride officially started at Ken Genius Bike Shop in Kangemi, climbing steadily up to Outspan, where I began filming. From Outspan Hospital, we turned right into rough, ragged terrain and climbed all the way to Ihwa Shopping Center before reconnecting with the tarmac.

From there, we took another right turn toward Ihururu Academy and Muhoya High School, tackling a brutal 1 km climb averaging 6.8%, followed by a short descent and a false flat back to Ihururu Shopping Center. At this point, we were basically circling Nyeri Hill.

Past Ihururu, it was time to face the main challenge — Nyeri Hill itself. The climb stretched 3.8 km, averaging 6%, with loose gravel, deep gullies, and sections pitching up to 20%. Add sharp switchbacks with tight angles, and it quickly became a serious test of legs, focus, and grit. The altitude gain was massive, climbing from 1950 m to 2210 m ASL.

After about 20 minutes of climbing the hill, we reached the top, took a short break, snapped photos, and trolled a few friends who missed out on the ride. Then came the reward — a fast, technical descent back down Nyeri Hill, hitting speeds of up to 72 kph, demanding solid bike handling skills and reliable brakes.

This ride had to be special — it was the last ride of 2025, and we did it in style.

The day was sunny, the views were stunning, and although we didn’t have time to fully soak it all in, the ride delivered everything we hoped for.
