With Habatat's 50th Anniversary Exhibition planned for September it is an honor to visit UK artist David Reekie for a Habatat-Zoom. Reekie has been a long time member of the Habatat Family and he is a founding member of the UK glass movement. His work is in multiple collections around the globe both public and private and you are invited to experience the artist discuss his life, career, and work this weekend.
Reekie's work is influenced by individual's reactions and adaptations to the society that surrounds us all. We live in a world that grows more complex and difficult to comprehend. It has tensions and temptations that pull us in different directions. This creates characters and situations that provide a constant source of material from which he take his ideas. This presentation should be very enlightening as this is a rare opportunity to experience the artist live.
