During the awards ceremony for the 96th Oscars, Emily Blunt and Ryan Gosling, who both star in the new action film "The Fall Guy" (2024), a remake of the 80s TV series of the same name with Lee Majors, thanked the stunt community for their efforts.
What some consider a great tribute to the brave men and women of the stunt industry was seen by others as a slap in the face - because to this day, there is still no Oscar for stunt work on film.
In the montage shown during the laudation, we also see an excerpt from Jackie Chan's "Police Story" (1985).
