FAQ's:

-Do I need longer shocks with this kit?
Longer shocks are not required for this kit. Vehicle manufacturers do, however, recommend that shocks be replaced in intervals as low as 50,000 miles. If your shocks have high miles, it is recommended to replace them while installing the lift kit.

-Why am I lifting the truck higher in the front?
We offer many kits with a greater front lift to compensate for the truck’s factory rake, which is the tendency for the rear to sit higher than the front. By installing a kit with a higher front lift, your truck will ultimately sit more level. Check out our other auctions for kits with alternative lifting heights.

-Do I need an alignment after installing this kit? Whenever the suspension of a vehicle is altered, it is always recommended to perform an alignment to ensure proper handling and to prevent premature tire wear.

1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee ZJ Transcript: Hey folks, Tim from Supreme Suspensions here. And sticking with our throwback theme from last week, we’ve brought in a first generation Jeep Grand Cherokee. This one right here is a 1997. It’s got a V8 engine and a full-time four wheel drive transfer case. What it needs now is a little Supreme Suspensions love and she’ll be good to go. So let’s head over to the shop.

This full kit includes two front lift spacers, two rear lift spacers, and four transfer case drop spacers. We’re also installing a new set of shocks.

With the axle supported, disconnect the sway bar links.

Undo the lower shock mounts.

If you’re replacing the shock, remove the upper mount from the engine bay.

Remove the ABS wiring from it’s bracket.

Remove the lower spring retainer clip.

Lower the axle and remove the bump stop. Remove the coil spring.

Disconnect the track bar from the axle.

Remove the bump stop mount and spring isolator.

Install the spring spacer onto the upper spring mount.

Install the bump stop mount and isolator over the spacer.

Reinstall the coil spring and it’s lower retaining clip.

Attach the sway bar link and tighten its bolt to 90 foot pounds.

Attach the ABS wiring.

Install the shock. The lower mount gets 21 foot pounds and the upper gets 17.

Reattach the track bar and tighten the bolt to 55 foot pounds.

Moving to the back, support the axle and remove the shocks.

Unhook the sway bar link.

Remove the retainer clip from the coil spring.
Lower the axle and remove the spring.

Remove the spring isolator and install the lift spacer onto the upper spring mount.

Install the spring under the spacer and raise the axle.

Install the lower spring retainer clip.

Install the shock. The upper mount gets 52 foot pounds and the lower gets 68.

Reattach the sway bar link and torque it to 27 foot pounds.

To install the transfer case drop, support the transmission crossmember and remove the four bolts attaching it to the vehicle.

Slightly lower the crossmember and slide the spacers between it and the chassis. Install the supplied bolts and torque them to 30 foot pounds.

The wheels get 85 foot pounds and then you’re ready to go.

So today we installed 3 inch spring spacers at all four corners. We also put in a transfer case drop kit to correct those driveshaft angles and we even threw in a new set of shocks, just for good measure. I love how these cars look when they’re all jacked up so I’m going to go find some stuff to run over.
