In a world full of the artificial and the not-so-intelligent stands artist, curator, mentor, and gallerist Carla Goldberg. Perhaps it’s the gold in her name, or maybe it’s because she was always prone to love water. Born in Los Angeles and raised in Palm Springs, Goldberg has fond memories of her early childhood. Her life in water started there, and so did the love of it. In the constant washings of a water-filled pool, Carla would indulge in deep fascination with the power of the sun, its reflection on the water, and its endless fluidity. As the great philosopher and martial artist Bruce Lee said, “water can either crash or it can flow, be like water, my friend”. What happened is that Carla became one with her art, and she has kept the undaunting spirit of putting her love of art to the test. Is it real or AI? Is it perception, reflection, or a revolution? In fact, art is all of these things and more. Her resume speaks for itself. She has done so much and accomplished so many things that it's surprising that, with all of that, her heart-shaped baby face shines through, and to continue to see the same enthusiasm and wonder for life is truly a treasure. Graduating from the Johnston Center at the University of Redlands with honors in Art and Art History and having a mentor like the famous painter John Nava, Carla has set her life up for success. She has explored many different types of materials and found that, in doing so, resin and plexiglass were at the top of the list for her to have an idea of how to make the best use of them. Holding an MFA from MICAH’s Mount Royal Graduate School of Art, Carla Goldberg ain’t no cheap piece of cheese; her innovative and revolutionary approach to making the magic happen, and in this case, art is the magic, and the group of 70 artists from 27 countries who collaborated to raise funds for Amnesty International through exhibition and public collections, made it happened. She believes that to understand art, one must engage with it from every angle. This deep belief led her to become the Director of Beacon Artist Union and Skylight Gallery in the New York City Chelsea area, where she integrated her teachings and accomplishments into a viable and supportive program for emerging and established artists. Carla Goldberg merges her insightful and emotional palette with her out-of-the-box selection on how to do it right. This ability makes her stand out whether in the position of gallerist, curator, or artist. Her style is authentically unique, combining the elements of water with resin, glue, and other materials gives her a broad view of the layout of life and its colorful array of opportunities. As far as AI is concerned, Carla says that she can't wait to see all that artists can do with it in their hands, and that my friend is truly like water
