First step is to prune the yellow leaves and stems because they are not getting back green again. When you prune, you encourage the plant to push for new leaves. Now let's see what's wrong with the care routine. When taking care of a philodendron, Make sure you don't water until the top 25-30% of the soil is dry to touch, in the active growing season. The most common reason for yellowing leaves in philodendron plants is improper soil moisture. Here's a simple formula to avoid over or underwatering trap . When you feel like watering your plant, go grab a chopstick a wwoden chopstick
is fine. Insert it all the way to the bottom. You will see the moisture level on the chopstick. Do it everytime before watering. you will definitely improve at watering for your houseplants. Remember to let 25% of the top soil to dry out and in winter season let it dry a bit more like about 50%.
Philodendrons prefer their soil to dry out slightly between waterings. If the soil is constantly wet, the roots can become waterlogged and begin to rot, leading to yellowing leaves. Also make sure the pot is draining well and remove any excess water in the saucer underneath the plant.
and check for the blocked drainage holes.
When you underwater a plant you will the see full yellowing on the leaves. like this one here.If our plant is underwatered try bottom watering to saturate the soil fully.Take a bigger pot larger the plant's pot and fill it with water and place your plant's pot into it, leave it there for around 20 minutes, this will saturate the soil fully, then pour some water from the top too.
