Описание: We travel into a high altitude mine called the Ruth Vermont with Sharon's brother in law David. After a long hike we explore a large Silver mine with some of the most impressive Galena and Quartz showings I have ever seen. The mine is filled with artifacts including a self unloading Granby car and more dynamite than we have ever seem in a mine!
One of many cases of dynamite we found left in an abandoned mine after the big spike in Silver prices collapsed in 1981. Most of the mines were operated by leasers who jumped in to make a quick buck then left everything behind when the price fell. If you find dynamite in or around abandoned mines and you think it may be a hazard you should report it to the mines inspector. In Southern BC Jerrold Jewsbury can be reached @ 250-420-6356. Also if there is ever an emergency in a mine he should be contacted. Even though they have never responded to an incident involving mine explorers there is a team of mine rescuers that are there to help if needed. Don't bother to call 911. They would call search and rescue who are not allowed to go underground so they would be of no use.

Why do we explore mines? Two reasons
1) Documenting the mines for future generations.
2) Collecting artifacts for our museum.
We have recently purchased a mine called the Yankee Boy Mine in Grand Forks BC, We are restoring the mine so we can take people for a tour of an underground mine . Mines are being filled in, demolished, and/or collapsing at an alarming rate, so it is crucial to document them and save these artifacts while it is still possible.
