21 km by packraft with Evert and Tom through National Park Biesbosch (section Brabantse Zuidwaard) in the Netherlands, at the confluence of the Meuse and Waal (Rhine) rivers. We paddle through a maze of waterways ranging from wide and open expanses to tiny and shallow overgrown channels. At the tiniest of channels, we either have to step out of the boat, or propel ourselves forward using hands instead of paddles.
Although we are nearing the end of September, the day is absolutely gorgeous with abundant sunshine, virtually no wind and a temperature of 25°C. In the morning we have the water largely to ourselves, but in the afternoon it gets somewhat more busy.
