📝 📖 Lesson Summary — Prayer & Humility (Luke 18:9–14)

This week’s lesson reminds us that prayer and humility go hand in hand. Jesus contrasts the proud Pharisee—who trusted in his own righteousness—with the humble tax collector, who simply cried out for mercy. God did not respond to the polished words of pride, but to the broken heart of humility.

True humility is not just a physical posture (kneeling, bowed head, clasped hands) — it is a heart posture. God hears prayers that flow from sincere repentance, dependence, and faith. Effective prayer is not performance; it is alignment with God’s will, trust in His character, and submission to His authority.

When we pray with humility and genuine faith, we approach God rightly — and He promises to hear us.

“For all who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.” — Luke 18:14.
