Direct Rail Services (DRS) Charity Open Day 2024

Описание: The DRS open day showed behind the scenes at one of the UK’s leading rail freight operators and was an event for all the family.

Visitors were able to look around the company’s maintenance depot in Carlisle, sit in the driver’s seat of a variety of locomotives, ask questions to industry experts and much more. We also watched a naming ceremony for one of the locomotives when its new nameplate was unveiled.

Direct Rail Services locomotives haul a wide variety of freight services including the TESCO freightliner trains to northern Scotland and the Cumbrian Nuclear Flask trains.

Locomotives on show represented Classes 57, 66, 68 and 88.

Finally we take a quick look at some action at Carlisle Railway Station.

We visited Carlisle on 6th July 2024.
