Superman: The Animated Series on kidsWB is a beloved follow-up to the successful series centering the Dark Knight that preceded it. The show offers a stylized and fresh take on the adventures of the Last Son of Krypton, and definitely earned its place in the ever-expanding DC Animated Universe of the late 90s and early 2000s. Superman's entire identity is wrapped up in rescuing the innocent (and sometimes the guilty) and saving as many lives as he can. Many episodes of the show and its sequel series, like The New Batman/Superman Adventures, Justice League, and Justice League Unlimited, pitted Superman against formidable foes, both physical and psychological. No other villain may have tested the Man of Steel more on every level than the New God of the planet Apokolips,...Darkseid. But time and time again, Superman proved that he was up to the challenge.
