📖 The Little Puzzle Piece
Positive affirmation: “I am important and needed in this world.”
Once upon a time, in a cozy little box, lived colorful puzzle pieces.
Each one was unique and carried a bit of magic within.
Among them was the tiniest piece of all.
His name was Little One.
He was small and quiet.
And for some reason, he felt completely unnecessary.
“Even if I disappear,” he thought,
“no one will notice.”
So one day, he left the box and hid in a cupboard full of old things.
“No one will notice I’m gone,” he whispered, curling into a dark corner.
“Ahem… who’s there?” came a voice.
It was a pair of rubber boots.
They had stood in that cupboard for years, listening to silence.
“It’s me,” said the puzzle piece. “Little One. From the colorful box.”
“What are you doing here?” the boots asked kindly.
“Why aren’t you with the others?”
“They won’t miss me,” Little One sighed.
“I’m just a tiny piece. They’re all so bright and bold.”
And he began to cry.
The boots waited, then gently said:
“You’re wrong, Little One.
You are needed.
Without you, the picture will never be complete.”
They told him their story.
They once felt forgotten too.
The lady of the house wore shoes, not boots — for a long time.
They stood in the cupboard, feeling useless.
But then came autumn — and rain.
Only the boots could protect her feet from puddles.
“Everything has its time,” they said.
“Everything has its place.
Even you.”
“Even the smallest puzzle piece matters?” Little One asked.
“Yes,” said the boots.
“Even the smallest.”
Little One smiled softly.
He felt… lighter.
Just then, he heard an argument.
Two mittens were nearby.
“I’m more important!” said the right mitten.
“She puts me on last!”
“Ha! She puts me on first!” snapped the left mitten.
“Hey, puzzle piece,” one mitten called.
“Who matters more: me or her?”
Little One paused, then answered:
“You both matter.
The right mitten warms the right hand.
The left — the left hand.
Together, you bring comfort and warmth.
You need each other.”
The mittens blinked.
Then they smiled.
“Thank you,” they said together.
“I need to go,” said Little One.
“The other puzzle pieces are waiting.”
⸻
Meanwhile, the boy who got the puzzle box was searching everywhere.
“Where are you, little piece?” he whispered.
His parents looked.
Even the dog helped.
They needed him.
Little One heard.
His heart felt full.
He ran back toward the box.
Just then, a soft hand picked him up.
“I found him!” the boy smiled.
“We were missing you.
You are part of the picture.
Please don’t hide again.”
At that moment, Little One felt warm and calm.
He knew the truth:
He was important.
He was needed.
⸻
And so are you.
Without you, the world would be incomplete.
You are unique.
You are loved.
You belong.
Say it with me:
“I am important and needed in this world.”
Because it’s true.
