Описание: The patriarchates of the Orthodox Church have declared the Old Calendarists in Greece, Bulgaria, Rumania, and in the U.S. and Canada, schismatics for their breaking communion with their lawful Bishops. This is in accordance with the ancient ecclesiastical principle that Bishops must be obedient to their lawful superiors (patriarchs and metropolitans or existing national synods) in order to safeguard the Unity of the Church. Old Calendar Bishops set up their own Synods of resistance to those Orthodox Churches accused of the ecumenist heresy or the “Calendarist heresy”, or disobedience to Tradition in some theological matter. In thus separating from the pan-Orthodox communion led by the patriarch of Constantinople, they have acted as sectarians (that is, setting up their own sects (i.e., little churches) and pretending to be Orthodox). As the Dictionary says, a “sect” is a small group or faction that separates from a larger established Church, and in the case of the Greek Church, from a State Church having the support of the government. Those supporting a sect are usually guilty of being religiously sectarian, i.e., blindly and narrow-mindedly devoted to their sect.

Elder Joseph the Hesychast received revelation from God that the Church was with the Patriarch. And Elder Joseph took the position that the zealots were deluded. I agree, and take the position that all modern "GOC"/"TOC" people are in prelest. With regard to the subject of the old calendar dispute, see "My Elder Joseph the Hesychast," pages 113, 122, 164, 491, 525. Like Protestants, "TOC" people don't believe God intervenes in history and enlightened Elder Joseph.

THE GOC, RTOC, ROAC, ROCIE, HOCNA AND GOCA ARE ALL IN SCHISM

Saint Ignatius of Antioch said: "Make no mistake, brethren, no one who follows another into schism will inherit the Kingdom of God, no one who follows heretical doctrines is on the side of the Passion."

Saint Ignatius teaches that there is no sin worse than the sin of division in the Church, and that not even the blood of martyrdom will wash it away.

Saint John Chrysostom writes: "I do say and affirm that schism is just as terrible an evil as heresy."

Saint John Chrysostom said: "I say this for those who indiscriminately go to all churches--both to ours and to those of the schsmatics. If they teach differently than we do--then for that very reason, of course, one ought not to go to them. But if they teach the very same as we do--then all the more cause why one ought not to go to them, for here is the sin of lust for authority."

Saint Cyprian of Carthage writes: If such men were even slain in confession of the Christian name, not even by their blood is this stain washed away...He cannot be a martyr, who is not in the Church.

In the life of Saint Anthony (written by Saint Athanasius), it says in chapter 91: Have no fellowship [communion] with the schismatics, nor any dealings at all with the heretical Arians.

St. Basil the Great instructs: Because their separation [is] initiated through schisms ... those who [have] separated themselves from the Church no longer [have] in themselves the grace of the Holy Spirit.... Nor could they any longer confer on others that grace of the Holy Spirit from which they themselves had fallen away.

Canon 33 of the Local Synod of Laodicea states: "That one must not pray together with heretics or schismatics"
