Dubai’s Roads & Transport Authority and Joby Aviation have achieved a breakthrough – the region’s first Joby Aerial Taxi test flight took off successfully at the Dubai Jetman Helipad in Margham. The all‑electric eVTOL aircraft completed vertical takeoff, horizontal flight, and landing, covering multiple loops over the desert in a pivotal step towards commercial service in early 2026. The drone carries a pilot plus four passengers, reaches speeds up to 320 km/h, cuts travel time—for example, to Palm Jumeirah—to just 10–12 minutes, and is 100× quieter than a traditional helicopter.
